Who you will help

Kav Lachayim currently serves and cares for children aged 6-21 who suffer from severe disabilities. Now the services offered are going to be expanded beyond 21 years old to support adult members of the community from all backgrounds. In order to do that, JNF will be assisting with funding the construction of two housing units that will allow for communal living. There, adults residents with muscular dystrophy, brain damage and other complex disabilities will receive the care they require in order to live as independently as possible.

The project includes a complex of two adjacent houses, where 20 residents can live full time along with caregivers. Two 1/4 acre plots of land have been set aside in Kibbutz Hagoshrim. Each two floor house will include additional space for administerial work. The design of the space will be safe, aesthetic, and accessible - accommodating the needs of the residents and encouraging daily interactions with the community.

About Kav Lachayim

Kav Lachayim, founded in 1989, is a non-profit organization and social movement, with tens of thousands of Israeli households acting as partners. Volunteers 16-18 years old carry out an array of charitable activities to improve the lives of children with disabilities. These include fun activities throughout the year, fundraising for life saving procedures, and operating a not-for-profit charity where medications are available at cost. Kav Lachayim are now expanding into providing housing and supports for adults.
